Adam “Julie” Hughes has established himself as a highly dependable and hard-working forward in Cornish rugby. Playing primarily as a lock. He is known for his work ethic, consistency and lineout authority.

Before stepping up to the National Leagues, Hughes spent the vast majority of his senior career at Penryn RFC where he clocked in nearly 200 appearances for the Borough. He was a prominent figure in their pack, frequently playing at No. 8 and proving to be a major asset in driving mauls and close-range scoring.

Julies’s performances at the club level earned him regular recognition on the representative stage for Cornwall. He represented the county at the Under-20 level.

More recently, he has gained senior county honors, representing Cornwall in both the Tamar Cup and the County Championship**.

Seeking to challenge himself at a higher level, Adam signed with Camborne RFC ahead of their National League 2 West campaign. He became a standout, highly consistent performer in the second row for Camborne. His consistency and work ethic upfront helped power the club to an emphatic National Two West title, rewriting records and securing historic promotion to National One scoring the bonus point try at Luctonians that made Town’s lead at the head of the table unassailable.

“I’ve loved my last 3 seasons with Camborne and I can’t wait to go again this year. I’m excited to build on last year’s achievements with this great squad we have.

Camborne is a special club and the support is second to none, which made my decision easy.”
