Sam Rodman has put together a highly respected career as a powerful tighthead prop. Known for his physical presence and set-piece reliability, he has been a staple in the RFU Championship for years before becoming a cornerstone of the pack at Camborne RFC.
During his university days, Sam was part of the squad that won the BUCS national title at Twickenham, defeating Loughborough Students 31-23. His dominant scrummaging at the university level earned him representative honors with the England Students national side.
Rodman established himself as a reliable “does exactly what it says on the tin” front-rower across several top Championship clubs. Heading to Ealing from university, a stint at Jersey Reds then to Pirates. Before signing for Town, Sam had a season at Hartpury
In July 2023, Rodman made the move to Camborne RFC in preparation for life in National League 2 West. Brought in to inject serious Championship-level quality and physicality into the pack, he made his league debut against Dings.
He has since become a crucial asset for Town. Whether starting or coming off the bench as an impact replacement, Rodman’s ability to lock down the set-piece and win crucial scrum penalties has helped anchor Camborne’s pack, including playing a key role in their recent pushes at the summit of National Two West and representing Cornwall in the Bill Beaumont Cup.
“I’m really looking forward to playing at Camborne for another year. It was an easy decision to continue playing here. I have really enjoyed every minute at this club.
Can’t wait to get stuck into the new season and see what it brings.”
