Hennessy re-signs for our first National 1 season!
Will “Doc” Hennessy is a versatile backline player, primarily as a centre, but also talented as a fly-half.
Before his arrival at Camborne, Hennessy featured as a fly-half for close neighbors Truro.
He frequently pairs up in the midfield alongside Josh Matavesi, between them making an exceptionally hardy centre pairing. His direct running lines and physical defensive capabilities in the midfield, make him difficult to bring down and hard to get past.
Demonstrating his well-rounded skill set, Hennessy has also featured for the club’s second team, famously kicking an impressive 10 out of 11 conversions and scoring a try in a single dominant win over Bude.
His performances earned him a call-up to the senior Cornwall Men’s county squad under skipper Sam Matavesi, competing in the Bill Beaumont Cup.
With his signature locked in for the upcoming campaign, Will had this to say, “I’m really looking forward to my third season in Cherry and White. As a club, we achieved what we set out for last year and I’m excited to see what we can do this year in our new leagues.”
