The Cherry & Whites return to the Rec this Saturday for a massive clash against Taunton Titans. Kick-off is at 2:30pm.
This weekend’s fixture carries extra weight as we welcome the one of only two sides to have successfully halted our momentum this season.
After the battle at The Nest against Hornets, the squad is primed for a physical encounter and a chance to even the score on home turf.
Team News
The headline news for the Town faithful is the return of Sam Matavesi. After a spell on the sidelines through injury, Sam resumes his role as captain. His leadership and experience will be vital in navigating what is expected to be a high-intensity 80 minutes.
We also see a deserved return for Will Hennessy, who slots into the centre alongside Josh Matavesi. Will has been the standout performer for the Seconds recently, and his consistent form in the second XV has earned him this opportunity to impact the First XV.
Shaun Buzza shifts to lock and Herbie Stupple moving into the number 8 shirt after his debut last time out.
Alex Ducker returns to the starting wing, while Finn Love moves to the replacements.
Dan Roderick and Archie Rolls retain their places among the finishers, joined by returning Sam Rodman, Jamie Prisk, and Finn Love.
Taunton Titans, having been the first team to inflict defeat on us this season, arrive at The Rec with the psychological edge, but Town’s home record and the vocal support of the Rec crowd are powerful equalizers. The visitors’ travelling record isn’t without hiccups though, winning only 3 out of 10 trips away from home soil. One of those wins being claimed in the last second by thr league’s too point scorer, Thomas Putt, robbing Redruth at the death with a (sublime) 18 – 20 score on the final whistle.
Come down and get behind the boys as we look to protect our home turf and keep the pressure on at the top of the table. Bars open at 12!
