Saltash 5 – 31 Camborne
Camborne Women travelled to North Cornwall for their third fixture of the season, facing an unbeaten Saltash Phoenix side. Despite Saltash being new to the league, their early form made it clear they would be a formidable opponent, and Camborne arrived knowing they’d need to bring their best.
Town’s women came out firing, with full-back Alisha Webb slicing through the Saltash defence to open the scoring. Chloe Hicks added the conversion, setting the tone for a confident start. Camborne continued to dominate the first half, with Tanya Glasson, Chloe Hicks, and Madie Webber all putting points on the board to build a commanding 19-0 lead.
Camborne’s forwards were a powerhouse in cherry and white, making fantastic ground to set up opportunities for the backs. With a selection of the front eight being new to scrummaging together, they looked to hold their ground well and showed impressive cohesion under pressure. Their relentless effort in both attack and defence laid the foundation for the team’s success, with several try-stopping tackles and a strong defensive presence throughout the match.
Saltash responded in the second half with a well-earned try and tightened their defence, making Camborne work hard for every inch. But the pressure eventually broke when Aimee-Jean Holsey powered through for a crucial score. Alisha Webb then struck again with another blistering run, capped off by a successful conversion from Chloe Hicks.
It was a strong team performance from Camborne, showcasing pace, power, and composure. The final whistle confirmed a 31-5 victory, keeping Camborne’s momentum rolling and marking a statement win against tough opposition.

Alisha is new to the sport, but you wouldn’t know it watching her play. This speed demon lit up the field, stepping into the line when needed and scoring two fantastic tries! In defence, she dropped into her crucial role at fullback, reading the game with confidence and precision.
A huge well done to these players—and to every single one who stepped up today.
We proved that our defence is just as fierce as our attack. I’m proud and honoured to lead this incredible team of women onto the pitch.
