Camborne Colts 34 – 0 Bude Colts

Camborne’s Colts hosted Bude in typical Cornish conditions in their second league outing of the season.

The first half saw a deluge of biblical proportions leaving spectators looking for shelter or materials with which to build an ark.

The rain didn’t put off the hosts, who had ran in the bonus point try in the first 20 minutes. Looking dangerous, forwards and backs linked well despite the slippery ball. Strong breakdown play semding Powell and Jenkins-Praill crashing through the centre repeatedly.

The first half ending 29 – 0 after 4 tries, 3 conversions and a penalty – kicks taken brilliantly by Mankee.

Bude regained their feet in the second period and managed to hold Camborne to only 5 points in the half. Ironically, Camborne’s handling saw some errors as the weather improved. By the end of the half, the sun was in full throes.

Jenkins-Praill deservedly won the man of the match award, but a special mention to Grenfell that put in a tackle so seismic, it was felt in the clubhouse.

Scorers:
